Re: Status of Metro Training Careers – Student Information Bulletin No. 1
On or about December 1, 2003 The Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS) became aware that Metro Training Careers (MTC) closed its location at 81 Willoughby Street in Brooklyn. BPSS is not aware that MTC has moved to another location and, if it has done so, such location does not have the required approval from BPSS. BPSS has presently secured the student records and the student records are located at our offices located at 116 West 32nd Street 5th Floor, New York, New York. BPSS has contacted the school owner as to his intentions of future operation. We have not received a response. Therefore, MTC appears to have no intention of resuming future operations.
If you are a current student you can file a Complaint Form with BPSS. You can access the complaint form from this web site's Form Section. After the complaint form has been received, BPSS will be notifying the student of his/her eligibility for a refund from the Tuition Reimbursement Account. If you have additional questions, please call Armando Pabon of our BPSS New York City office at (212) 643-4763.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q - I have a Home Health Aide (HHA) Certificate from Metro and I need to have it validated so I can work for an agency. Can you verify it?
A - BPSS plans to be able to verify these certificates after February 15, 2004, based on available student records.
Q - I completed the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) program at Metro and I want to take the State CNA exam.
A - If you graduated from MTC between November 15, 2002 and April 21, 2003, or after August 18, 2003, you will not be able to take the State Exam and you must file a complaint form with BPSS to be processed for a tuition refund.
If you graduated from MTC other than the above dates, you will still need to file a complaint form with BPSS in order to be eligible to take the State CNA exam. The information the student provides in the complaint form will determine whether or not the student will be able to take the State CNA exam.
Q-I already sent in a $115.00 money order and test application to Experior ( the testing agency). Will I be able to take the State CNA Test?
A- The information that you provide in the complaint, including proof of payment (if any), along with your supporting documentation will be reviewed by BPSS. BPSS will determine whether you will be able to take the exam.
