SUBJECT: Technical Training Program (TTP): Applicants for School Licensure – Wednesday, July 30, 2003
NOTE (added 7/11/03): This course offering has now been filled. No additional seats are available.
The Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision (BPSS) has found over the years that many problems in the proprietary school sector develop in schools that are newly licensed. To effectively address this concern, BPSS has put together a training program specially designed for directors and staff of schools that are not licensed, but have recently applied for licensure. The objective of this training program is to provide technical assistance to schools even before they are issued a BPSS license in an attempt to avoid problems and issues that typically develop.
This program will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the BPSS office at 116 West 32nd Street, 5th Floor, New York, New York 10001. The session will start at 10:00 AM and conclude by 4:00 PM.
The agenda is designed for all new school license applicants that were filed with BPSS between October 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003. The program will include informal discussions, roundtable issues, problem solving workshops, and significant input from school license applicants.
To allow for sufficient space and to ensure individual time for every participant, each school is asked to limit its attendance to one or two school representatives. The proposed licensed school director and an additional staff member is suggested. In addition to the program, this session will provide you with an opportunity to meet and touch base with various members of the BPSS staff from both our NYC and Albany offices.
Please respond to this invitation by July 18, 2003 with the name of your school and its representative(s) who would like to attend the session. You must RSVP to the BPSS Administrator at bpss@mail.nysed.gov. Since capacity is limited, you will receive a confirmation that your request to attend has been confirmed and your name(s) will be included on the participation list found on the “Training, Tutorials and Technical Assistance” page of the BPSS website (www.highered.nysed.gov/TTP_Participants.htm) (page no longer valid-expired). Confirmation will be accepted on a first response basis. If you do not get confirmed at this initial program offering, BPSS will be holding additional workshops depending upon demand.
I look forward to participating with you in this very productive session.
