SUBJECT:   Meeting of the Proprietary School Advisory Council – September 17, 2003

         The next meeting of the New York State Proprietary School Advisory Council is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2003.  This meeting will be held at the Suburban Technical Institute, 175 Fulton Avenue, 6th Floor, Hempstead, New York, 11550.  From Penn Station, take the Long Island Railroad to the Jamaica station and switch trains to Hempstead.  Once at the Hempstead Station, you can walk down Main Street and make a right on Fulton Avenue, for two blocks.  Travel time from Penn Station is approximately 50 to 60 minutes.  For additional directions, please call the school at (516) 481-6660.

            The public portion of the meeting will begin at 11:45 AM and conclude by 2:00 PM.

            The agenda for the September 17, 2003 meeting as set by the Council is as follows:

1.         Advisory Council Executive Session - Council Members only, 10:45 AM – 11:45 AM

2.                  Introduction and review of meeting agenda – 11:45 AM

3.                  Welcome to Suburban Technical School – Sylvester Lewis, President

4.                  Approval of the meeting minutes from January 30, 2003 (copy enclosed)

5.                  Old business and review of ongoing issues

6.                  Updates from BPSS

7.                  Q & A Session from the Advisory Council to Joseph P. Frey, Assistant Commissioner, Office of Quality Assurance

8.                  Presentation from ESL Schools

9.                  Set agenda and date for the next meeting

10.             Comments and questions from the audience
